Connecting MacBook to Wireless Display

Audience: Staff

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to show staff how to connect their ICCSD MacBooks to a wireless display.

Notes:

  • MacBooks do not have the ability to use the interactive pens in PC Mode when using the wireless display. 

Connecting

  1. Open Control Center from the top menu bar.

  1. Select Screen Mirroring.

    1. A list of available devices will be displayed by building and room number

      1. For example: Horn-001.

      2. The building and room number will also be displayed by the projector on the classroom whiteboard.

  1. Select your building and current room number. 

  2. Please be sure to select the correct building and room number. 

  1. When prompted enter the Airplay Code for the selected projector.

    1. Airplay Code: The code will be a random 4 digit code displayed on your projector screen.  

  2. Click OK.

  1. In the Control Center, duplicate the laptop screen to the projector by selecting Mirror Built-in Retina Display.

    1. Alternatively, you can extend the laptop display by selecting Use As Separate Display.

  1. To disconnect Screen Mirroring, Select the connected display (blue icon) and Control + Click.

    1. Or select Display Preferences…

    2. From the Airplay Display drop-down, select Off.
