Interactive Projector Connection Overview

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to show staff how to use the functions of the interactive projector when it is connected to a computer.

Summary: When you have connected your computer to your projector, many useful functions are available on your whiteboard using the on-screen toolbars. While many of these functions are also available from the remote, you may find the ease of these on-screen toolbars a better option.

Interactive Pen Toolbar

• You can select the mode of your interactive pen (PC Interactive/Mouse or PC Free Annotation/drawing) using on-screen icons.

  • By hovering one of your interactive pens near the whiteboard, a small arrow will appear on both sides of the projected image.

  • Additionally, on one side you will also see a pen icon (Annotation Mode).

    • Depending on which side of the board you are working from, selecting the arrow will move the pen icon to the desired side.

    • Selecting the arrow will also open the Drawing Toolbar.

• Selecting the pen icon will expand to include an image of a mouse.

  • Selecting the mouse will then put your pen in Interactive Mode.

  • You can now use your pen as a mouse to interact with your computer desktop.

• The chart below outlines how to use your pen as a mouse.

  • You must have a connected device (computer) to use the Interactive Mode.

Projector Control Toolbar

• You can slide this toolbar along the bottom of your screen by holding your pen on the gray dots at either end, then dragging with your interactive pen.

Open	Display the Home screen. You can also hit the Home button on the remote to see the home screen menu.
Open	Print the projected image - UNAVAILABLE
Open	Save the projected image to a connected USB storage device - UNAVAILABLE
Open	Share the projected image using EasyMP Multi PC Projection or Epson iProjection - UNAVAILABLE
Open	Change the image source using a displayed list. (To close the image source list, select the blue X in top right)
Open	Zoom into and out of the image. After selecting this icon, you will see the following menu. For the Drag box to enlarge option, use your interactive pen to highlight desired area.  Open
Open	Turn off the picture and sound. This is the same as A/V Mute on the remote.
Open	Pause video action. This is the same as Freeze on the remote.
Open	Increase or decrease the volume. Volume can also be adjusted using the remote. See the guide called Projector Volume Control for more detailed information regarding volume.
Open	Project two images from different image sources. Selecting this icon will open an easy to use screen from which to select your desired sources. This can also be accessed by using the Split button on the remote.
Open	Set the timer. See image below for Timer features. This can also be used when not connected to a computer (see Projector as Interactive Whiteboard) Open Adjust minutes Adjust seconds Have the timer count up or down Adjust the volume when timer ends Start/Stop and Reset at bottom of screen Hit X in top right corner to close

Drawing Toolbar in Whiteboard Mode

• The Drawing Toolbar is the same in both annotation and whiteboard mode, with one exception as shown below.

  • Again, at the top of the toolbar, Annotation Mode is on the left and Whiteboard Mode is on the right.

  • Select the desired icon with your interactive pen.

  • no computer has to be connected to use whiteboard mode

• Select background pattern

  • choose between white or black backgrounds (plain, lined, or grid pattern).

• You can slide the drawing toolbar anywhere on your screen by holding your pen on the dots at either end, then dragging with your interactive pen.
